145-01000 – Cleveland OEM Torque Plate Reducer Bushing
Available now on the Airparts.aero Marketplace.
Overview
The Cleveland 145-01000 is a genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) reducer bushing, a precision-engineered component essential for various Cleveland brake assemblies. This bushing is designed to be press-fit into the anchor bolt holes of the brake torque plate (stator), allowing a single torque plate design to be adapted for use with smaller diameter anchor bolts. Fabricated from high-quality sintered bronze, the 145-01000 provides a durable, corrosion-resistant, and replaceable wear surface, ensuring proper alignment and load transfer between the brake assembly and the landing gear axle.
Key Features
- Sintered Bronze Construction: Manufactured from a high-quality, oil-impregnated sintered bronze alloy. This material is chosen for its excellent lubricity, high compressive strength, and superior anti-corrosion and anti-seizing properties compared to steel or aluminum.
- Precision Reducer Function: Specifically designed to reduce the anchor bolt hole diameter from 1/2 inch to accept a 3/8 inch anchor bolt, ensuring a snug, precise fit. This eliminates play and movement between the torque plate and the axle flange.
- Load Distribution & Wear Surface: Acts as a replaceable bushing that bears the immense shear and torsional loads during braking events. It prevents wear and elongation of the anchor bolt holes in the more expensive torque plate casting.
- Interference Fit Design: The outer diameter is precision-machined to create a secure interference fit when pressed into the torque plate, ensuring the bushing will not rotate or work loose during operation.
- Genuine Cleveland OEM Part: As the genuine OEM part, it guarantees the correct material composition, dimensional tolerances, and porosity required for a certified, airworthy brake system repair or overhaul.

Applications
The 145-01000 is a key component for brake system maintenance and overhaul:
- Brake System Overhaul: A mandatory inspection and common replacement item when overhauling brake assemblies to restore original tolerances.
- Torque Plate Repair: Allows for the restoration of a torque plate with worn or elongated anchor bolt holes by reaming the holes and installing new bushings.
- Ensuring Proper Fit: Guarantees that the braking force is transferred correctly from the stationary torque plate to the landing gear structure without shock loading or component slippage.
Why Choose 145-01000?
The proper fit of the brake torque plate on its anchor bolts is critical for preventing brake chatter, vibration, and uneven pad wear. The Cleveland 145-01000 bushing is not just a spacer; it is an engineered bearing surface. Using a genuine OEM part ensures that the bushing is made from the correct, oil-impregnated sintered bronze alloy, which provides the necessary lubricity to prevent seizing and the correct strength to prevent deformation under load. For a flight-critical system like the brakes, there is no substitute for certified, original equipment hardware.

The 145-01000 bushing is central to the function of a floating-caliper disc brake system. The torque plate (stator) is the stationary member of the brake assembly; it does not rotate with the wheel. It is held in place by anchor bolts fixed to the landing gear axle flange. All of the torsional force generated by the brake pads clamping onto the rotating disc is transferred through the caliper, into the torque plate, and then through these bushings into the anchor bolts. The sintered bronze material provides a semi-lubricated, sacrificial surface that allows for minute movements and prevents galvanic corrosion between the steel anchor bolts and the aluminum or magnesium alloy torque plate, ensuring the assembly can be properly serviced and that braking loads are smoothly and evenly distributed.
Note: Installation of this bushing requires it to be pressed into the torque plate. This is a task that should be performed by a certified A&P mechanic or at a qualified wheel and brake overhaul facility in accordance with the Cleveland maintenance manual. The fit is critical for proper function.
